Cherokee Distributing Gives $10,000 to Community Campaign
From Tullahoma News:
The United Way of Coffee and Moore County Executive Director Alicia Bell has announced that Cherokee Distributing is its first Legacy Giver with a $10,000 donation.
The donation will be distributed to local nonprofits that are opening access to education, income, health and essentials for neighbors in need, according to Bell.
Cherokee Distributing has designated half of its donation to two of United Way’s partners: $2,500 to Haven of Hope and $2,500 to the Coffee County Children’s Advocacy Center.
The other $5,000 will be distributed to the United Way’s 10 other partner organizations, including CASA Works, Community Development Center, Good Samaritan, Coffee County Humane Society, Imagination Library, Life Choices, Multi-Cancer Support Network, Partners for Healing, Shepherd’s House and Trinity Care Center, according to Bell.
Cherokee Distributing is a family-owned business that has made a commitment to customer service and community involvement since they began in 1958, according to Bell.
“When Cherokee Distributing acquired Mid-South Distributing earlier this year and moved into our community, they eagerly looked for ways to give back.” she said. “Having previously worked with United Way in other locations, they were excited to invest in this community by giving to United Way’s Allocation Program.
“Their $10,000 donation is the first monetary legacy donation to our local United Way office. Cherokee Distributing is eager to work with other local businesses to expand United Way’s programming.”
