United Way of Coffee & Moore Counties is pleased to announce that it will be expanding into Warren County effective immediately. The board of Coffee and Moore Counties approved the request to transfer Warren County to their service area during their meeting in April, 2017. The request was approved by the board of United Way of Rutherford & Cannon Counties in May, 2017.
“All of the programs and services offered to our Coffee and Moore Counties residents and nonprofit organizations will now be available to our Warren County residents. I’m very excited to start working with Warren County on ways to continue strengthening a great community of people,” said Jennifer Neel, Executive Director of United Way of Coffee & Moore Counties. “We are in the process of a name change for our chapter so that it will represent all three counties we now serve.”
This announcement comes right at the beginning of UWCMC’s annual campaign which runs from September thru December, 2017. The Annual Campaign’s goal is to raise funds to help build access to Education, Financial Stability, Health, and Basic Essentials for our neighbors in need.
UWCMC donations stay right here in the community and can be used for the following:
- Give Program
Building Nonprofit Capacity, Protecting Your Donation
(Also known as Allocations Program) These funds are strategically allocated to organizations that build access to the pillars of success: education, financial stability, health, and basic essentials. A trained Allocations Committee, consisting of United Way board members and community members, review applications, meet with organizations to discuss their goals, and decide what organizations will receive our unallocated designations. UWCMC currently supports 16 United Way Partners. Partners receive financial, marketing, education and training resources to make sure that your donated dollars are used as effectively and efficiently as possible. Partners also report to UWCMC monthly to ensure your donations are being used as promised. Current UWCMC Partners include: CASA Works, Coffee County Children’s Advocacy Center, Coffee County Humane Society, Community Development Center (Families & Children), Good Samaritan, Haven of Hope, Imagination Library, Life Choices, Multi-County Cancer Support Network, Partners for Healing, Shepherd’s House, Howard’s Hope, Coffee County Drug Court, and FCA. By giving through United Way, you save these nonprofits the time and staff resources it takes to fundraise and process your donation, giving them more time to serve our community!
- Designate to a Nonprofit or Current Service Priority. If you would like to choose exactly where your donation goes, you can! You can designate it to a specific nonprofit, either a United Way Partner or another local nonprofit. You can also designate to a service priority: Education, Financial Stability, Health, or Basic Essentials. These designations still go through the allocations process, and are therefore protected by UWCMC screening.
- Designate to One of United Way’s Programs. UWCMC runs many programs itself, including: Volunteer Management, Nonprofit Assistance Clinic, 211 Referral Hotline, FamilyWize Discount Prescription Cards, and STEM & Entrepreneur Education program.
- Invest in What Matters to YOU. UWCMC can develop a new program that matters to you. Contact us to discuss what issues or programs you would like us to focus on in the community.

If your business is interested in donating, UWCMC has many ways to get involved. You can make a traditional donation, or host an employee United Way campaign in your office! It’s a great way to get your employees involved with the community.
UWCMC will also be hosting a fundraising event in October to help with its annual campaign. The Moonlight Masquerade is a family event and will be held in the ballroom at Marcum Capitol (410 Wilson Ave., Tullahoma) on Saturday, October 14 from 6-9 PM. We will have a costume contest, dinner, DJ, silent auction, and activities for children and adults. Cost is $15 for adults, $25 for a couple, $10 for children, or $40 max for a family of 4 or more.
